Description:Overall Purpose of the Position/Function

The Field Manager 1 is responsible for the direct supervision of 2-4 field crews, for the professional and technical development of those field crews and for the quality of the field work performed

Responsibilities                                                                                             

1.         Ensure the quality of the field work performed by direct reports meets standards. 

2.         Ensure daily production rates, as outlined in project work plans, are consistently met or exceeded.

3.         Ensure the field work performed by direct reports is performed according to current published standard procedures and work instructions.

4.         Perform field audits, or inspections, on direct reports and document all non-conformances to the most current published procedures and work instructions including safety procedures.

5.         Ensure direct reports have all necessary equipment and tools to perform their work in the most efficient and safe manner according to the most current published procedures.

6.         Ensure the proper care and maintenance of all company assets assigned to field crews under direct supervision. 

7.         Work with the Project Manager to develop and execute daily and weekly schedules for each field crew according to the project work plan.

8.                  Stay in constant contact with each field crew during the course of the business day.

9.                  Provide daily written updates to the Project Manager summarizing the day's activities including accomplishments, problems encountered, observations, etc.

10.              Track rework, utilization and productivity by crew for each day.  Provide Project Manager with weekly reports summarizing crew production and rework indexed against work plan production rates.

11.              Provide constant performance feedback to direct reports.

12.              Responsible for the professional and technical development of the field crews under direct supervision.

13.              Performing site investigations and developing site safety plans.

14.              Provide the Data Analyst with the appropriate inputs for flow monitoring sites in accordance with the most current Data Analysis work instruction.

REQUIREMENTS

SKILLS:  Ability to develop and motivate employees.  Task oriented with analytical perspective.  Good communication skills are necessary.  Ability to develop and meet schedules a must. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

Field Manager 1:  B.S. degree in Engineering or Environmental Science or related field, or internal promotion from the Field Supervisor position.  Valid driver's license, full safety certification (Level 3), minimum of 6 months of satisfactory field experience with ADS, completion of the "Operations and Maintenance of Wastewater Collection Systems" home-study course.
